The Role We're looking for a People & Compliance Partner to drive people-centric practices across all regions while ensuring compliance. As an individual contributor, you will handle compliance, employee relations, and industrial relations. You will provide consultation on performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes, and support our Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment plan. Reporting to the Head of Organizational Development, you will be the company's in-house expert on transactional processes, S189 procedures, performance improvement plans, disciplinary processes, and BEE initiatives. You will also support the Head of Organizational Development in global learning and development initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Employee Relations & IR Management Provide advice on employee relations, ensuring adherence to the company's code of conduct and legislation. Drive performance improvement plans, counselling, and grievance procedures (including whistleblowing). Represent the company in conduct or incapacity hearings. Support restructuring initiatives like S189A processes. Ensure internal policies align with legislation.
- B-BBEE & Compliance Support the implementation of the B-BBEE strategy. Collect evidence for the Annual B-BBEE Audit, maintain spend trackers, coordinate employment equity intern placements, and arrange vendor agreements.
- Supportive People Development Develop and implement people-centric initiatives. Support diversity and inclusion initiatives. Guide and train management on performance management best practices, feedback delivery, and difficult conversations.
Skills and Experience
- Preferably a relevant degree (HR/Industrial Psychology) or equivalent with HR/IR certification.
- Minimum 5 years HR experience, 3+ years supporting leaders in labor relations.
- Experience partnering with leadership to develop and implement performance improvement, S189 processes, and disciplinary processes.
- Working knowledge of South African labor law and BEE legislation.
- Proven track record in managing complex employee relations issues in a high-growth environment.
- Experience in Technology/Fintech/SaaS preferred.
- Proficient in Excel, Slack, OneDrive, BambooHR, Confluence, MS Teams.
- Experience with reporting on metrics.
- Strong conflict resolution skills.
