We are passionate about changing the world by valuing skills over pedigree. This remote, full-time role in India supports multiple product managers within a pod-embedded model.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting PMs and Product Designers in delivering new/improved features, helping customers accomplish their Jobs-to-be-done.
- Supporting Product and Content marketing teams with data stories to strengthen HackerRank's brand authority in technical hiring.
- Designing, executing, and interpreting user journeys to accelerate product activation, retention, engagement, and monetization.
- Exploring large, complex datasets to create actionable insights.
- Owning and developing queries, analysis, and visualizations for ad-hoc, recurring requests, and troubleshooting projects.
Requirements:
- Deep understanding of the product area, user personas, target market, and competitive products/alternative solutions.
- Ability to work with briefing-level guidance on requests from PMs.
- Understanding when analytics solutions require high accuracy vs. directional answers.
- Ability to provide answers when data quantity/quality is an issue (sampling, bootstrapping, proxies).
- Minimum 4-5 years experience as a business intelligence analyst, data analyst, or product analyst with proven business impact.
- Minimum 2+ years experience focused on feature and usage metrics, A/B testing, conversion/retention, segmentation, and user personas.
- Capability to own and deliver projects end-to-end.
- Expert knowledge of SQL and MS Excel.
- Intermediate scripting skills using Python libraries (Pandas, NumPy).
- Understanding of data modeling and DW table development.
- Hands-on data visualization experience using Looker or comparable platforms.
- Knowledge of basic statistical concepts and hypothesis testing (t-tests, z-tests).
- Experience with A/B and multivariate testing (preferred).
- Detail-oriented and expert in qualitative/quantitative analysis with passion for delivering actionable insights.
- Strong product/business acumen with problem-solving aptitude.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Nice to have: (optional)
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Information Management, MIS, Business Analytics, or related field.
- Strong experience with large datasets, clickstream application analytics.
- Familiarity with the Talent Acquisition space.
