Job Details
Design and develop instructional materials for online, hybrid, and face-to-face healthcare courses.
Implement program and course offerings and evaluate their effectiveness, suggesting improvements based on data.
Develop courses within the institution's LMS (Learning Management System).
Prepare course components including overview, syllabus, learning outcomes, content, assessments, and interactive activities.
Create, publish, and manage eLearning content.
Design various instructional materials for instructor-led, online, and web-based programs.
Attend curriculum committee meetings and implement approved changes.
Collaborate with subject matter experts during course design.
Facilitate effective instructional approaches in online course design.
Select suitable course materials, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
Develop instructional and training materials within a flexible course production framework.
Deliver courses per schedule and budget.
Follow a course design model reflecting best practices in higher education.
Create and contribute to documentation, training, and knowledgebases.
Write and copy-edit content for accuracy and style.
Manage edits and revisions, ensuring content quality.
Project manage course development from inception to completion, communicating progress to VP.
Participate in team planning, implementing solutions to new technology and functional requirements.
Participate in testing and piloting of new educational tools.
Keep abreast of trends in online instruction, including copyright, accessibility, and open educational resources.
Other duties as assigned.
Master’s degree and/or certificate in Instructional Design or related field required.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience designing and delivering courses for higher education.
Experience with multimedia authoring programs, instructional technology and learning theories is required.
Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio, and video scripts.
Knowledge of course development software and at least one Learning Management System.
Proven project management skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and decision-making abilities.
Maintain project documentation and course folders.
Ability to adapt to new technologies and provide excellent customer service.
Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
Experience applying learning theory and andragogy to online courses (preferred).
Experience with Canvas LMS, Higher Ed administration, and accessible technologies preferred.
Knowledge of online learning regulatory requirements (UDL, ADA, Section 508, copyright, FERPA, etc.) (preferred).
Annual salary range: $72k - $75k. Typical hiring range: $72,000-$73,500.
