Position Summary: The Senior Accounting Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the company’s accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and supporting strategic initiatives. This role involves managing accounting processes, mentoring others, and driving process improvements in a dynamic, high-growth environment. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.
What you will do:
- Financial Reporting: Oversee and own the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
- Month-End Close Process: Manage and streamline month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Accounting Operations: Oversee day-to-day accounting activities such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management. Ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Maintain and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy. Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements. Implement best practices to enhance the effectiveness of the accounting function.
- Audit Support: Prepare schedules and documentation for external audits and respond to auditor inquiries. Support tax compliance and filings as needed.
- Team Leadership: Mentor, train, and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning. Delegate tasks effectively and provide ongoing feedback.
- Collaboration: Partner with the CFO, HR, and other cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives. Collaborate with external accounting, audit, and tax professionals to ensure compliance, prepare for audits, and address complex accounting and tax matters.
What you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Master's degree, CPA or CMA certification preferred
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Experience in a high-growth, healthcare, or PBM environment is a plus.
- Public accounting experience (Big 4 or regional firm) is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks).
- Advanced Excel skills

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
