Acumatica is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join their team. This role involves building best-in-class business products using Acumatica xRP technology and offers professional growth opportunities in Montreal or Ottawa, Canada.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively engage with stakeholders, partners, and customers to identify and prioritize needs.
- Evaluate and structure information from various sources, gathering requirements and distinguishing user requests from true needs.
- Conduct system analysis and design functional specifications, utilizing BDD, UML, and ERD for product features/enhancements.
- Clearly communicate requirements to software developers.
- Collaborate with developers and QA engineers, translating business requirements into technical requirements.
- Research existing product issues/enhancements to focus on key areas.
- Collaborate closely with product managers in defining and grooming the product backlog.
- Demonstrate features/enhancements, manage feedback.
- Perform user acceptance/usability testing.
- Collaborate with QA on quality testing, participating in test case/scenario design.
- Serve as product functional expert, sharing knowledge with support, implementation, and other teams; communicate product knowledge to partners and clients (docs, training).
- Analyze support cases/defects, designing solutions and verifying defect fixes.
Requirements:
- Higher technical education in relevant fields (e.g., computer systems, information systems, system analysis).
- 5+ years experience in system analysis, software design, and functional specifications development (specifically in payroll).
- 5+ years experience in business software development.
- User empathy, user behavior modeling, ability to identify application flaws.
- System thinking and managing complexity at different levels.
- Structuring large amounts of information, decomposing objects/processes, synthesizing solutions, and analyzing impact.
- Strong critical thinking and attention to detail.
- Clear communication, technical writing, and technical communication skills.
- Effective communication with colleagues, sharing knowledge and experience.
- Adherence to priorities and focus on results.
- Self-organization and independent work, with a commitment to perfectionism.
Will be a plus:
- Business analysis experience with complex systems or processes.
- Programming experience (any platform/language).
- Professional technical writing experience.
- Payroll/ERP system experience.
- French language fluency.
- Strong critical thinking and attention to detail.
Basic Business English required.
