Axios is a growth-stage media and technology company focused on providing trustworthy news and information. We're seeking a seasoned Sr. Director of People Operations to manage Total Rewards, People Operations, Employee Experience, and People Systems.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of Directors.
- Foster a collaborative culture emphasizing innovation and continuous improvement.
- Handle escalated issues and make decisions as needed.
- Understand company goals and align People Operations work.
- Design and execute People Operations programs that support employees and culture, while adhering to compliance and financial objectives.
- Develop strategic Total Rewards programs (compensation, benefits, and recognition).
- Drive Workday system evolution for automation and simplification.
- Build and scale programs/processes for a growing workforce.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and HR best practices.
- Leverage data and analytics to inform decisions and communicate impact.
- Partner with senior leaders to align People strategies with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Finance, Legal, and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
- 15+ years of progressive HR/People experience, with at least 5 years in a Director-level role.
- Proven track record overseeing People Operations, Total Rewards, and Workday.
- Deep understanding of HR compliance, employee experience, and benefits/compensation strategy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
- High level of empathy, integrity, and discretion.
- Highly organized and driven to deliver high-quality work.
Compensation: $175,000 - $225,000 (location-dependent).
