Oxfam America employees are able to work remotely, but to be considered applicants should reside within a 200-mile radius of an Oxfam America office in Boston and Washington DC.
Coordinates with Institutional Funding and Partnerships team, Executive Office, Vice President of Resource Development, Global Programs, Policy & Advocacy, Finance, Public Engagement, Oxfam International Institutional Funding, Regional Business Development Managers, and funding and program staff from other Oxfam affiliates and country offices.
Purpose: The Senior Manager, Institutional Funding and Partnerships is a key member of IFP's leadership team. Responsible for overseeing and cultivating a high-performing team of Development/Senior Development Officers. Provide strategic guidance on acquiring and cultivating meaningful donor relationships and drive fundraising efforts from US Foundations and non-US government donors.
In addition, leads the preparation of complex proposals, acts as a key external representative of Oxfam, and serves as a trusted knowledge resource for staff/leadership across the Oxfam confederation.
Primary Responsibilities
- Strategic Accounts Team (SAT) Management and People Management (40%):
- Manage the Strategic Accounts Team (SAT). Maintain an overview of all donor submissions and awards; set key performance indicators and monitor opportunity pipeline data.
- Directly supervise a team of Development/Senior Development Officers, including their pipeline and portfolios.
- Manage growth and performance of the Strategic Accounts Team.
- Provide strategic leadership and expert oversight for proposal and report submissions.
- Provide quality assurance on funding proposals developed by programs teams and deliver hands-on support as needed.
- Optimize relationships with Existing High-Value Donors (40%):
- Act as a senior external representative for Oxfam.
- Lead efforts on sustaining and growing relationships with key foundation donors.
- Manage relationships with assigned donor(s), including developing and implementing 3-year donor account plans.
- Provide strategic guidance to senior Oxfam leadership.
- Manage activities related to prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Write and/or edit proposals, reports, budgets, budget narratives, and related material.
- Undertake donor-related travel.
- Identify areas of mutual strategic interest.
- Provide Strategic Input and Collaborate (20%):
- Serve as a key member of the IFP's Senior Leadership Team.
- Provide strategic direction for high-value proposals.
- Partner with IFP's director and sub-team leads.
- Partner closely with the executive office and program leadership.
- Stay abreast of trends in US foundation giving and adapt strategies/approaches.
- Champion the use of CRM systems.
