THE POSITION: The Senior Medical Science Liaison will establish, develop, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
Product launch: Ongoing as the first and only FDA approved therapy for desmoid tumors. A Marketing Authorisation Application for desmoid tumors in Europe was submitted in February 2024.
Senior MSL responsibilities:
- Be the scientific face of the Client in the field.
- Mastery of technical, clinical, and functional expertise.
- Maximize and leverage Key Opinion Leader (KOL) relationships.
- Develop and maintain scientific and medical knowledge.
- Communicate key insights and disseminate scientific data to external stakeholders (academic/scientific/clinical experts, payers, and patient organizations).
- Ensure timely and appropriate input on field medical engagement plans.
- Support company clinical development and commercialization programs.
- Assist and drive support of company clinical trials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build and maintain deep expert relationships with KOLs.
- Establish and maintain strong scientific connections across multi-specialty disciplines.
- Support and advise in translating the field medical strategy.
- Partner with Medical Information colleagues to improve Standard Response Letters, FAQs, and efficiency.
- Act as expert liaison to investigators.
- Be the primary onboarding trainer and mentor for new MSLs.
- Organize pre-conference company meetings.
- Stay abreast of scientific and treatment landscape trends.
- Contribute to Product Medical Affairs Team.
- Participate and advise in the planning and execution of scientific/medical advisory boards.
- Serve as a scientific subject matter expert.
- Understand EU pharma rules (MSL activities, HCP/patient interactions).
- Provide clinical presentations and respond to questions.
- Create and implement territory plans.
- Build and sustain relationships with clinical decision-makers.
EXPECTATIONS OF THE JOB:
- Travel: up to 70%.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 5-10 years MSL experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Oncology experience essential.
- Rare disease experience (Oncology) preferred.
- Master presenting clinical/scientific information (1:1 meetings, small groups, written).
- Mastery of business software: Veeva CRM, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understand and communicate complex technical concepts and technologies.
- Highly collaborative with outstanding relationship management skills.
- Ability to lead and manage projects/teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong personal initiative, flexibility, innovation, and execution.
- Live within the territory.
- Valid driver's license.
