Job Details
We are seeking a Senior Accountant – Revenue & Group Reporting to join our Finance team in the UK. You'll have strong IFRS 15 revenue accounting experience, especially in a software/licensing environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for revenue and receivables (revenue cut-off, account analysis, reconciliations, journal entries, and reports).
- Ensuring high accounting standards and compliance with IFRS 15.
- Serving as the SME for internal projects impacting revenue recognition.
- Partnering with commercial finance to review contracts, assess revenue treatment under IFRS 15.
- Liaising with contract teams for contract execution, documentation, and SAP entry.
- Managing accounting aspects of contracts (accruals, deferrals, ongoing recognition, invoicing).
- Collaborating with finance and non-finance teams to ensure data integrity in internal systems.
- Calculating revenue-linked intercompany recharges.
- Developing and maintaining revenue recognition policies.
- Assisting with drafting/updating/reviewing revenue accounting policies.
- Driving process improvement and control enhancement for billing, revenue, and receivables.
- Collaborating with the assistant accountant for timely and accurate billing, cash allocation, and maximizing collections.
- Reviewing and updating the expected credit loss provision (IFRS 9).
- Liaising with credit controllers and auditors on potential bad debts, escalations, and accounting adjustments.
Qualifications:
- Strong IFRS 15 revenue accounting experience in a software or SaaS environment.
- Strong technical accounting skills, UK GAAP and IFRS knowledge.
- Experience in a fast-paced, multi-currency environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to advise and challenge on accounting matters.
- Strong organizational, independent, collaborative, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, SUMIFS, VLOOKUP).
- 2+ years post-qualified accountant experience (ACA/ACCA).
