Jackbox Games is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer with Go experience to join our remote team.
About Jackbox Games: Jackbox Games is a small game studio of approximately 80 people. We specialize in social party games, releasing five new games each fall. Our games have been featured on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and by Polygon, and are enjoyed in living rooms worldwide.
About the Role: As a Site Reliability Engineer, you'll focus on maintaining our AWS-based infrastructure for high availability, performance, and scalability.
- SRE Operations (70%):
- Architect and manage highly available and resilient systems on AWS ECS.
- Use ECS for container orchestration and Terraform for infrastructure automation.
- Improve system observability with CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Lead incident response and root cause analysis.
- Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks for reliable releases.
- Continuously optimize system performance.
- Mentor team members on SRE best practices.
- Application Development (30%):
- Develop backend applications in Go to enhance user experience and support game functionality.
- Build tools to streamline SRE workflows.
- Support efficient CI/CD workflows for infrastructure and application updates.
- Participate in code reviews and documentation.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of SRE, DevOps, or similar experience with AWS.
- Strong Go development skills.
- Proficient with core AWS services (ECS, EC2, S3).
- Experience with containerization (ECS) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Experience with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Experience with testing automation.
- Scripting skills (Go, Python, or Bash).
- Mentoring experience.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive salary range: $103,326 - $190,465.
