Role Overview
- Capacity modeling: Craft capacity reservation proposals.
- Optimize Cloud: Evaluate and upgrade cloud instances; automate rollouts.
- Solve observability puzzles: Move services to serverless, configure alerts, logs, and deployments.
- Automate all the things: Automate GCP project provisioning and data isolation.
- Tame noisy alerts: Find and fix root causes of noisy alerts.
- Security meets sanity: Create straightforward secure development policies.
- Chasing errors: Track down 500 errors across various codebases and systems.
- Scale the Platform: Enhance, maintain, and iterate infrastructure for growth.
- Write it down: Create useful technical documentation.
Requirements
- Cloud expertise: Solid GCP experience, IAM, VPCs, compute instances.
- Scripting & automation: Proficiency in Python, Bash, IaC tools like Terraform.
- Observability: Familiarity with monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog.
- Networking: Knowledge of SSL certs, API gateways, Docker networking.
- Problem solving: Ability to solve complex technical issues.
- Collaboration: Comfortable working cross-functionally.
- Documentation skills: Ability to create clear technical documentation.
Nice to Haves
- Experience in marketing, ecommerce, or ad-tech.
- Understanding of secure development and audits.
- Experience with infrastructure not deployed to a cloud.
- Capacity planning and AWS/GCP cost optimization.
