About the Role:TechOps Engineers at Fieldguide are pivotal in bridging Engineering, Customer Support, and IT to drive automation and operational excellence. They have a background in software engineering, a passion for automation, strong communication and writing skills, and the ability to respond effectively to internal and customer events.
What You’ll Do:
- Automation: Write code and tools to streamline operations, reduce manual tasks, and enhance efficiency for core product and internal workflows.
- Production Support and Incident Response: Act as a primary responder to technical incidents, analyze root causes, and implement preventive measures.
- Internal IT Efficiency: Support internal IT processes with an eye towards automation around vendor management, access and identity management, and more.
- Monitoring: Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize performance and scalability.
- Security Compliance: Ensure systems adhere to security best practices and compliance standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, Customer Support, and Product teams to support deployment processes and integrate new technologies.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configuration, procedures, and changes to facilitate knowledge sharing and continuity.
About You:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years in a TechOps, IT, Engineering, or DevOps role.
- Proficiency in Python or JavaScript plus basic software engineering knowledge.
- Strong SQL skills and knowledge of database technologies.
- Experience working with APIs.
- Experience with automation tools like Cypress or similar.
- Experience with version control and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working with AI and LLMs.
- Familiarity with macOS and IT management.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Datadog and Sentry.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and load balancing.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Extremely detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
