Unitek Learning is seeking a 100% remote Student Services Advisor to join our team.
The Student Services Advisor serves as an advocate for student success throughout the academic lifecycle. They must demonstrate a high level of integrity and commitment to student success planning and advising.
Responsibilities:
- Contact students regularly and proactively via virtual meetings, phone, text, and email to provide support and encouragement.
- Use student information systems, CRM, and reporting tools for timely task completion.
- Complete outreach throughout the student lifecycle, including new student welcome calls, orientation preparation, and at-risk advising.
- Offer comprehensive support to students and resolve concerns or issues, escalating to the Academic Manager when needed.
- Support student events (virtual or in-person).
- Act as a programmatic expert, knowledgeable about program requirements, courses, equipment, and policies.
- Act as a resource expert, describing resources like counseling, tutoring, and library access.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with managers to review goals and needs.
- Implement strategies for program retention.
- Complete departmental training (including cross-functional training).
- Attend and participate in meetings, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Handle and document confidential student information in compliance with FERPA.
- Demonstrate knowledge of policies, procedures, and accreditation requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Indicators of Success:
- Meet retention standards and collaborate with Academics to achieve monthly attrition rate goals.
- Provide compliant documentation of student guidance throughout the program.
- Meet departmental engagement goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience in counseling, coaching, or education is preferred.
- Strong communication, customer interaction, and organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills and comfort with technology.
- Ability to adapt to change and learn new skills quickly.
