Job Details
We are looking for a skilled System Administrator with expertise in VMWare ESXi/vSphere to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and support of our virtualized environments, ensuring their reliability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- VMWare Environment Administration: Install, configure, and manage VMWare ESXi hosts and vSphere environments. Perform regular updates, patches, and upgrades to VMWare infrastructure. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Virtual Machine Management: Create, deploy, and manage virtual machines. Perform regular backups and restorations. Ensure virtual machines are configured for high availability and disaster recovery.
- System Maintenance and Support: Conduct routine system checks. Provide technical support and resolve issues related to VMWare environments. Maintain accurate documentation.
- Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices. Ensure systems comply with organizational policies and industry standards. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Resource Management: Monitor and manage resource allocation. Perform capacity planning. Optimize resource usage.
- Network and Storage Integration: Configure and manage virtual networks within VMWare environments. Integrate and manage storage solutions with VMWare infrastructure. Troubleshoot network and storage issues.
- Collaboration and Training: Work closely with other IT team members. Provide training and support to end-users and junior staff. Participate in the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a System Administrator with a focus on VMWare ESXi/vSphere.
- Strong knowledge of VMWare vCenter and related virtualization technologies.
- Familiarity with network and storage concepts.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., VCP) are preferred.
Skills:
- Proficiency in VMWare ESXi and vSphere administration.
- Experience with VMWare tools such as vCenter and PowerCLI.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (VLANs, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP).
- Knowledge of storage systems (SAN, NAS) and their integration with VMWare.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
