Tax Associate

Reporting to the Tax Manager, the Tax Associate will support daily operations of the Tax Department, including tax return preparation, month-end close, audit support, and special projects. The role involves contributing to best practices and procedures, complying with internal accounting and SOX-related policies. Collaboration with all levels of the organization is critical, along with a working knowledge of corporate tax best practices, organization, and tracking of tax projects. Focus on optimizing department processes and building relationships.

Responsibilities Include:

1. Assisting with quarterly corporate income tax provision.
2. Processing and delivering partnership and related income tax returns (including K-1 distribution).
3. Preparing corporate state and federal income tax returns.
4. Supporting accurate and timely month-end close procedures.
5. Drafting response letters to IRS and state notices.
6. Participating in tax registration events and other tax return preparation, including sales tax, business license, franchise, property, and gross receipts tax returns.
7. Participating in strategic tax initiatives and research.
8. Supporting external and internal audit requests.
9. Driving process improvements, technology-driven solutions, and automation.
10. Maintaining accurate accounting records.

Qualifications:

• 1+ years of public or corporate tax experience.
• CPA or CPA eligible, preferred.
• Healthcare, public company, or public accounting experience, a plus.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or large ERP system, a plus.
• Strong communication, problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Meets internal and external deadlines.
• Complies with HIPAA rules and regulations.

Compensation:

$70,000 - $80,000 base salary, plus potential bonus and benefits.
