Full-Time Tax Director

Smartsheet is seeking an experienced Tax Director. The Tax Director will manage income tax compliance and reporting, working with cross-functional teams to ensure company compliance with applicable laws.

Responsibilities:

• Manage federal and state income tax compliance.
• Review consolidated income tax quarterly and annual financial statement calculations.
• Lead global tax forecasting (expense and cash taxes).
• Monitor tax legislation, court cases, and rulings, implementing necessary business process changes.
• Manage tax audits, responding to queries and information requests.
• Assist with process improvement of tax systems and compliance.
• Review monthly account reconciliations.
• Maintain tax process and control documentation.
• Manage and grow a small team, supporting development and hiring.
• Assist with special projects.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• 10+ years experience in tax accounting and compliance, including public accounting and large corporate tax department experience.
• 5+ years people management experience, leading, directing, and coaching teams.
• Strong knowledge of ASC 740, income tax laws, and tax research.
• Experience with tax software and financial reporting tools.
