About the RoleAs the Vice President of Strategic Account Management, you'll lead a high-performing team to deepen client relationships, drive renewals, and expand revenue within existing Employer Benefits & Payor clients. You'll set the strategic vision for account management, mentor the team, oversee key employer relationships, and advise clients on complex healthcare challenges.
This is a player-coach role; leading your team while directly managing critical relationships and stepping up as needed.
You’ll work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and service delivery to ensure partners realize the full value of PHM’s services, and that our offerings evolve based on their strategic needs.
What You’ll Accomplish
- Lead, coach, and scale a high-performing team, fostering client engagement, retention, and growth.
- Establish performance goals, provide mentorship, and ensure team alignment with PHM’s strategic priorities.
- Partner with cross-functional executives on evolving client strategy, service delivery, and revenue planning.
- Serve as executive sponsor for key accounts, building trusted advisor relationships with senior benefits leaders.
- Drive long-term engagement by aligning PHM services with client’s health strategy.
- Provide strategic reporting on clinical, financial, and member engagement outcomes.
- Own retention and expansion of PHM’s largest client relationships.
- Partner with sales to identify and execute upsell opportunities.
- Lead commercial strategy across renewals, contract negotiations, and benefit integrations.
What You Bring to the Table
- Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree or MBA preferred.
- 10+ years experience in strategic account management (preferably in healthcare, benefits, or health tech).
- Proven success leading a team of client-facing professionals.
- Strong executive presence, communication skills, and ability to influence at all levels.
- High technology literacy and data-driven discussions around value and impact.
- Strong sense of ownership, strategic thinking, and passion for improving complex care navigation.
- Availability and ability to travel regularly.
Compensation, Benefits, & Work Environment
- Total On-Target Earnings (OTE): $205,000 – $280,000
- Base Salary Range: $170,000 – $200,000
