Full-Time Virtual Mental Health CA Associate Therapist

The CA Associate Therapist works in a dynamic multidisciplinary team providing treatment services according to the Discovery Clinical Model.

Therapist responsibilities:

• Ensuring patient safety
• Providing milieu interventions
• Leading psychoeducational and process-oriented therapy groups
• Facilitating clinical assessments
• Conducting therapy sessions
• Completing case management tasks, as assigned
• Completing clinical documentation timely
• Completing documentation requirements
• Establishing therapeutic rapport with patients and families/loved ones
• Facilitating admission assessments and admission process
• Understanding role in providing expeditious access to care
• Participating in weekly treatment team and staff development meetings
• Communicating weekly treatment goals
• Maintain a case load of 12-15 patients
• Completing therapy sessions for patients and family/support system sessions
• Facilitating process-oriented and psychoeducation groups
• Facilitating multi-family groups, family program, and/or family weekend
• Providing utilization review clinical to UR team member
• Providing clinical information to obtain initial authorization and continuing stay authorization
• Being accessible to family members or loved ones
• Returning calls and emails within 2 hours during business hours and 24-48 hours otherwise
• Assessing patients for suicidality and potential danger
• Providing additional clinical support to team members
• Communicating with Utilization Review and Business Department
• Beginning discharge planning on day of admission
• Completing discharge session with patient
• Ensuring discharge appointments are confirmed
• Communicating with referral sources
• Facilitating patient transfers
• Participating in clinical outreach and program tours
• Effectively managing crises
• Providing support to milieu staff
• Working collaboratively with the treatment team and milieu staff
• Completing other tasks, as requested

Requirements:

• Master's or Doctorate degree in relevant field
• Completion of state requirements for therapeutic interventions
• Clinical supervision included
• Current driver's license and good standing
