Full-Time Virtual Mental Health Therapist

Virtual Mental Health Therapist works within a dynamic multidisciplinary team to provide treatment based on the Discovery Behavioral model.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring patient safety
• Providing milieu interventions
• Leading psychoeducational and process-oriented therapy groups
• Facilitating clinical assessments
• Conducting therapy sessions
• Completing case management tasks
• Ensuring timely and accurate clinical documentation
• Establishing therapeutic rapport with patients and families
• Facilitating admission assessments and the admission process
• Participating in weekly treatment team meetings and communicating treatment goals
• Completing the required number of therapy sessions per week, including family/support system sessions
• Carrying a caseload of 12-15 patients
• Facilitating process-oriented and psychoeducation groups
• Facilitating multi-family groups
• Providing utilization reviews to insurance companies
• Assessing patients for suicidality and potential harm to self or others
• Providing clinical support to other team members (when needed)
• Communicating with Utilization Review and Business departments
• Beginning discharge planning on the day of admission
• Completing discharge sessions to ensure coping skills, transition plan, and resources are understood
• Ensuring discharge appointments are confirmed
• Communicating with referral sources and outpatient providers
• Facilitating patient transfers (as needed)
• Actively participating in clinical outreach and program tours
• Effectively managing crises
• Providing support to milieu staff
• Working collaboratively with the treatment team and milieu staff
• Providing clinical supervision (as assigned)
• Ensuring supervisees remain current on documentation, case management, and clinical activities

Qualifications:

• Master's or Doctorate degree in a relevant field
• Active state license in Maryland (preference given if also licensed in FL, TX, VA, or CT)
• Five or more years of experience in mental health
• Current driver's license
