Job Details

We are looking for a motivated Account Manager to join our outstanding team in South Africa. The role involves nurturing relationships to grow revenue.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead commercial accounts and strategic site-level locations.
  • Identify and close new opportunities.
  • Collaborate with LGC team members to provide customer service.
  • Plan and conduct customer reviews at strategic sites.
  • Manage prospects, accounts, opportunities, pipeline, and sales forecasts.
  • Develop understanding of key LGC products and their applications.
  • Meet and exceed assigned sales targets.
  • Engage with customers via email, phone, and in-person visits.
  • Increase LGC Standards brand awareness.
  • Lead Channel partner relationships.
  • Coordinate equipment-related customer vendor documents and contracts.
  • Serve as a backup for the Equipment Technical Specialist.

  • Sales & Engagement: Uncovering needs, demand generation, persuasion & negotiation, account management.
  • Product Knowledge: Value propositions, solution development.
  • Market Knowledge: Competitive landscape, positioning, and industry trends.
  • Account Management: Relationship management, cross & up-selling, customer retention.
  • Technical Knowledge: Ability to diagnose and interpret the best course of action.
Requirements:
  • B.S. in chemistry, physics, biochemistry, biology, or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in selling technical products.
  • Prior key account management experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents.
  • Experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce and Desk a plus).
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office products a plus.
  • Outstanding commercial awareness and planning abilities.
  • Proven track record of meeting sales targets.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Willingness to travel within EMEA.
  • Previous Analytical Instrumentation Sales an advantage
  • Experience in an analytical laboratory environment.
  • Own transport and a valid driver's license are essential.
