We are seeking a dynamic and experienced New Business Development Manager to spearhead our expansion efforts in the North American market, specifically the USA and Canada.
This role is pivotal in leading key strategic growth projects, identifying and developing new market opportunities, establishing and nurturing relationships with new customers and key stakeholders, and crafting compelling value propositions to drive business growth.
The Business Development Manager will:
- Project Leadership: Lead and manage identified strategic projects that are core to our growth in the North American market. These projects are defined as moves that can shape the future of our North American operations. Collaborate closely with Category Directors, Product Leads, and the Global Marketing team to ensure successful execution.
- Market Development: Work with Category Directors on the identification and development of new key projects in future phases, building on the success of the initial strategic projects and connected with the category strategies.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with new customers, industry associations, and key market stakeholders. Act as the primary point of contact for all new business initiatives.
- Value Proposition Development: Create and refine value propositions tailored to the needs of the markets. Ensure these propositions effectively communicate the benefits and competitive advantages of our products.
- Sales Training: Train and mentor the sales team on the developed value propositions and market approach. Equip them with the necessary tools and knowledge to successfully engage with new customers.
- Reporting & Metrics: Develop and maintain reporting systems to track progress against business development goals. Provide regular updates to senior management on market activities, opportunities, and challenges.
The Business Development Manager should have:
- Proven track record of successfully developing new markets and driving business growth.
- The ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including Category Directors, Product Leads, and Global Marketing Teams.
- Strong relationship building skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- The ability to think strategically
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This role will travel 50%.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field required. MBA preferred.
7+ years in business development, preferably in B2B Industries.
What we offer at O-I:
- Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position is between $130,000 and $160,000 and includes a possible 20% quarterly incentive bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
