As the Business Development Manager, you will:
- Identify and pursue business opportunities with current and new clients in New England.
- Create a territory plan based on SGS Health Science's strategy.
- Participate in preparing sales goals and track progress.
- Visit prospects to sell and support SGS Life Science Services.
- Grow market share by winning new customers.
- Identify prospects, perform need analysis, and follow up to close.
- Promote North American network and expertise.
- Maintain knowledge of SGS's analytical capacity and capabilities.
- Participate in strategic decisions regarding new service opportunities with biotech, pharma, and medical device companies.
- Execute sales activities, including planning, visits, reports, and results.
- Maintain accurate data in the Sales Pipeline tool.
- Adhere to Customer-Centric selling methodologies.
- Use internet, phone, tradeshows, and databases to generate opportunities.
- Ensure communication with labs for handover and execution.
- Participate in hosting client visits to North American locations.
- Network with key players and understand market developments.
- React to business opportunities from Operations.
- Assist in price structure and negotiations.
- Ensure client complaints are resolved promptly.
- Review and prepare contracts.
- Report on marketplace developments and competitor activities.
- Forward opportunities to other Business Lines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Virology, or related field.
- Sales experience selling CDMO or CRO services for biologics (Required).
- Must be located in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Vermont.
- Proven track record of sales in NAM pharma/biotech industry (Required).
- Experience maintaining a CRM.
- Experience developing and achieving sales targets.
- Customer-facing experience.
