We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager with strong sales orientation, business development expertise, and preferably technical background in electrical engineering, EV charging, or fleet management.
This role drives revenue growth, fosters client relationships, and manages pre-sales for municipal and utility fleet electrification projects.
The ideal candidate possesses business acumen and technical proficiency in electrical systems, EV infrastructure, or fleet management.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, engage, and close deals with municipalities and utility fleet operators interested in EV charging solutions.
- Assess client charging needs, infrastructure limitations, and fleet electrification roadmaps; translate them into tailored proposals.
- Develop and present pricing, installation, and commissioning quotes from charger manufacturers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, OEMs, installation teams, and internal departments for smooth execution and upsell opportunities.
- Act as trusted advisor, educating clients on EV charging technology and fleet transition best practices.
- Stay informed about EV industry trends, regulatory developments, and competitive landscape.
Essential Skills
- Sales & Relationship Management: Proven track record in sales, pre-sales, or business development.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate effectively with various stakeholders including customers, OEMs, and internal departments.
- Pre-Sales & Quoting Experience: Experience developing quotes, proposals, and pricing structures for complex projects.
- Technical Background: Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical experience in EV charging and fleet management.
- Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting: Ability to address project roadblocks and find solutions.
- Self-Starter: Take initiative to identify business opportunities and drive sales growth.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Knowledge of EV Charging Protocols & Infrastructure (e.g., OCPP).
- Experience in the EV Industry.
- Government & Utility Fleet Connections.
Remote Work & Travel: 50-70% travel required.
Reporting Line: Reports to Head of Municipals.
