Job Details
We are seeking a highly efficient and courteous Cashier with strong customer service skills. Responsibilities include scanning items, verifying prices and quantities, handling payments, issuing receipts, answering questions, and providing assistance with product information, promotions, and locating items.
You will also resolve customer complaints, process refunds/exchanges, and maintain a clean workspace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcoming customers, answering questions, assisting with locating items, and providing advice or recommendations.
- Operating scanners, scales, cash registers, and other electronic equipment.
- Balancing cash registers and generating reports for credit and debit sales.
- Accepting payments, ensuring accuracy of prices and quantities, and providing receipts.
- Processing refunds and exchanges, resolving complaints.
- Bagging or wrapping purchases for safe transport.
- Adhering to store policies regarding coupons, gift cards, and specific item purchases (e.g., alcohol, cigarettes).
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous customer service or cashier experience.
- Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly.
- High energy level and strong customer service skills.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift items, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail.
- Helpful and courteous approach to resolving complaints.
