Crowell & Moring LLP is an international law firm. The Conflicts Analyst supports the firm's risk management and new business function by performing conflict of interest checks on lateral attorney hires and new representations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Analyzes information from new matter requests to ensure compliance with firm policies and professional responsibility rules.
- Reviews conflict of interest reports for lateral hires and new matters to identify and resolve conflicts.
- Assists conflicts attorneys with resolving conflicts and communicating with impacted attorneys.
- Reviews engagement letters and new matter scope communications for compliance.
- Assists with training of Conflicts Information Specialists and Analysts on procedures, process updates, and software changes.
- Assists with special projects, such as bankruptcies and ethics walls.
- Participates in testing, development, and analysis of electronic tools and processes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of conflicts of interest issues.
- Strong knowledge of technical systems for law firm new business intake.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Strong research skills.
- Accuracy in data entry.
- Ability to master new technology.
- Proficiency in standard office equipment and Microsoft Office Suite.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
- 4+ years of increasingly responsible conflicts law firm experience or equivalent experience in practice support or legal assistant capacity.
Compensation:
$67,000 - $90,000
