About the role:
As an early member of the Data Science team at Render, you’ll have a critical impact on our growth by shaping product strategy and guiding investment decisions through clear, actionable insights. While collaborating with teams across the organization, you will be the first to explore many areas in our data and unlock opportunities to drive innovation.
You will:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, and Marketing to guide, influence, and support product strategy with data insights.
- Analyze and interpret large, complex datasets to address diverse and challenging business problems using various analytical and statistical techniques.
- Explore and evaluate opportunities for product improvement.
- Develop and track success metrics for product initiatives.
- Provide actionable insights about our users such as how they work, how they discover features, and which obstacles they might run into on the platform.
- Contribute toward initiatives to enhance the reliability and accuracy of our data infrastructure and processes.
We're looking for someone who has:
- 3+ Years of experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches.
- 1+ Years of experience leading data-driven projects from definition to execution, including metric definition, experiment design, aggregation of results from disparate data sources, and communication of actionable insights to stakeholders.
- A track record of high ownership and taking initiative.
- Experience in cross-functional collaboration including effective communication with team members of varying skill sets and levels of experience.
- Proficiency in SQL with some experience in Python.
- Our data stack:
- Multiple sources of data (e.g. Segment, HubSpot, back-end data in Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL)
- ETL to BigQuery with Stitch
- Dbt layer for data transformation
- Analysis and reporting with Metabase and MixPanel

Some projects you might work on:
- Define metrics for measuring our growing marketing and sales pipelines and provide data to focus efforts on acquiring and converting high value leads.
- Conduct quantitative user research to support improvements to pricing and packaging.
- Develop algorithms for detecting abuse on our platform.
- Build trustworthy, standardized datasets around product usage to measure the impact of various feature improvements.
- Our openings span more than one career level. The starting salary for this role is between $170,000 and $200,000 USD. The provided salary depends on many factors, such as work experience and transferable skills, business needs and impact, and market demands.
- The opportunity is also eligible for equity with early exercise options and extended exercise windows.
