Full-Time Development Manager - Midlands

We’re recruiting a new Development Manager where you will be supporting the Head of Development to source, appraise, scrutinise and contract s106, package deals, land led and joint ventures.

You will manage a pipeline across local authority areas under the direction of the Head of Development focusing on the Midlands region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reporting to the Head of Development and working with Finance and Operations team, support the full and successful delivery of s106, package deals, land led opportunities and JV Partnerships.
• Undertake business development activities in relation to new business opportunities, targeting, overseeing the pricing and negotiation of schemes, and executing affordable housing forward funding and direct acquisitions.
• Prospecting opportunities, appraising schemes jointly with Finance and Operations teams, appraising and testing schemes in accordance with investment parameters and scrutiny processes, reporting to the Head of Development.
• Managing all negotiations transparently, honestly, and safeguarding the company’s reputation.
• Ensuring projects are contracted in accordance with approvals and policies.
• Responsible for effective contracting and successful project management of schemes, delivering them on time and to a high quality, with customer satisfaction.

Required Skills:

• Sourcing and contracting residential affordable housing investments and/or developments.
• Maintaining trustworthy relationships with developers and house builders.
• Delivering good returns and effective project management and risk management.
• Local knowledge of social housing and wider residential sectors, social housing development, housing management, and regulatory requirements.
• Developing new business relationships.
• Acting efficiently and productively within decision-making processes.
• Self-driven entrepreneurial spirit and embrace change and opportunity.
