Director of Distribution

Responsibilities:

• Leading distribution strategy and execution through a 3PL partner.
• Ensuring seamless order fulfillment, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.
• Key liaison between internal teams and the 3PL.
• Managing KPIs and driving continuous improvement.
• Maintaining brand experience throughout the shipment process.

3PL & Distribution Oversight:

• Managing the daily 3PL relationship, holding them accountable to SLAs and KPIs.
• Overseeing fulfillment across all outbound channels (focus on ecommerce/DTC).
• Conducting regular business reviews and scorecarding with the 3PL.
• Supporting new product launches, seasonal peaks, and promotional campaigns.
• Overseeing returns processing and communication with relevant teams.

Outbound Shipping & Carrier Management:

• Owning outbound shipping strategy and execution for timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Managing relationships with parcel and freight carriers.
• Defining and optimizing shipping methods, service levels, and routing.
• Monitoring carrier performance (on-time delivery, claims, complaints).
• Resolving escalated shipping issues with 3PL and Customer Experience.
• Collaborating with Planning and channel heads for volume forecasting.
• Ensuring proper documentation and compliance for all shipments.

Inventory & Systems Integration:

• Ensuring high inventory accuracy across systems (ERP, WMS, OMS).
• Monitoring inventory accuracy, fulfillment rates, and order flow.
• Identifying opportunities to automate outbound processes.

Continuous Improvement:

• Leading contract negotiations and rate reviews with 3PL and carriers.
• Implementing cost-saving initiatives.
• Collaborating cross-functionally to align logistics with brand standards.
• Staying current on industry trends.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years in logistics, distribution, fulfillment, or supply chain
• 3+ years managing outbound shipping and 3PL relationships
• Experience with parcel and freight shipping operations
• Familiarity with ERP and WMS platforms (NetSuite preferred)
• Proven track record of cost-efficiency and speed improvements
• Data-driven mindset, strong analytical skills
• Excellent communication, vendor management, and cross-functional skills
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Logistics preferred
