Electrical Site Manager
An integral role in helping customer visions for automated storage solutions come to life.
Core Objective: Guide, control, and oversee projects during electrical installation and initial commissioning phases. Solutions include fully automated storage systems, pallet shuttles, tote shuttles, automated mobile robots, and ancillary equipment. Customers: End-users across the US and Canada. Project Size: 1-30MAs.
- Work with Project Managers, Engineers, and Site Managers.
- Follow up with team members to produce/adjust technical documents.
- Supervise assigned project execution and subcontractor personnel.
- Support subcontractors with problem-solving and troubleshooting.
- Conduct site safety training and regulatory checks.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Foresee project risks and escalate issues.
- Discuss drawings and blueprints with subcontractors/foremen.
- Lead site coordination and provide reports.
- Monitor project progress and quality, addressing deviations.
- Adhere to project budgets and manage material receiving.
- Control equipment certifications.
- Monitor and report potential delays.
- Take ownership of results and act proactively.
- Provide timely reports and ensure updated project documentation.
- Track claims, identifying variations and delays.
- Communicate project variations to Project Managers.
Technical Requirements
- Several years' experience in electrical installation, ideally in material handling/automation/robotics.
- Basic automation controls knowledge.
- Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Strong communication skills for client interaction.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, Industrial, Robotics, or Controls) is a plus.
Practical Requirements
- Live near a major airport.
- Willing and able to travel consistently to project sites across the US and Canada.
- Occasional weekend or evening work possible.
- Travel percentage averages 80% annually, with critical phases requiring 2-3 weeks on-site.
- Travel for onboarding and training to Romeoville, IL office, and possibly Belgium (usually no more than 2 weeks).
- Work hours overlap with European colleagues; start no later than 8 am CST.
