Syngenta's Crop Protection Finance Team seeks a remote Finance Business Partner for Soy Production & Supply in Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois.
Role Purpose:
Support Function stakeholders with collaborative business partnering, financial analysis, planning, and productivity initiatives across the NA organization.
Contribute to financial health and strategic alignment via in-depth financial modeling, business case development, critical insights, and informed decision support for senior leadership.
Accountabilities:
- Apply financial expertise to influence business strategy, decisions, and assumptions.
- Proactively provide financial modeling, analysis, and support for business cases (e.g., cogs, productivity, secondary distribution, capacity projects).
- Provide insights into financial performance through advanced analysis (variance, scenario modeling, trend forecasting).
- Validate COGS, prepare standard-to-standard and gross profit reviews, and lead budgeting & reconciliation for full year reporting.
- Identify deviations from strategy and forecast.
- Prepare and present financial reports to leadership and stakeholders, highlighting KPIs, trends, and actionable insights.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for financial insights, strategic initiative support, and business decision impact evaluation.
- Lead development of annual budgets, long-term financial plans, and periodic forecasts aligned with business unit strategic objectives.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models for valuation, investment analysis, and strategic decision support.
- Contribute to financial operations improvement, enhancing financial reporting, analysis, and support tools, efficiency, and data accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls, participating in risk assessment and mitigation.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field.
- Master's degree or professional certification (CFA, CPA) preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, accounting, or related field, preferably in agriculture.
- 5+ years of corporate financial reporting, modeling, and business partnering experience.
- Advanced proficiency in financial analysis tools and software (Excel, SAC, financial modeling, SAP, Qlik, PowerBI).
- Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, regulatory requirements, supply, manufacturing, and supply chain processes.
- Collaborative team work, independent problem-solving, effective communication and presentation skills, ability to simplify complex information, stress resilience, and stakeholder relationship management.
- Strong prioritization skills, adaptability to change, focus on innovation, improvement, and efficiency.
