- Collect inputs /trends from region/global to shape the long-term crop strategy of our tropical vegetable crops.
- Project leader and cross-functional convenor for these crops on global initiatives.
- Define IP strategy metrics.
- Provide strategic guidance and collaborate with stakeholders/counterparts for product centric teams in Production & Supply, Finance and Research & Development.
- Responsible for securing a clear strategic segmentation of the portfolio between customer segments.
- Own the global Target Product Profiles for the crop mega-segments.
- Prioritize traits and breeding program resource allocation across regions & customer segments.
- Drive solving product portfolio gaps and opportunities to address alliances and licensing (in close collaboration with the ‘growth’ team).
- Set Global portfolio thresholds to drive profitability and new product introduction success.
Experience: A minimum of five years of experience in the seed business and/or crop marketing including research, commercialization, production, and/or supply chain management.
Understanding of vegetable seeds, preferably in tropical growing environments.
Knowledge: Understanding of sustainable agriculture practices and their impact on crop production, environmental sustainability, and profitability.
Financial acumen: The ability to manage budgets, forecast revenue, and analyze financial data to ensure profitability.
Strategic thinking: The ability to develop and implement long-term crop strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
Leadership skills: The ability to lead cross-functional teams and motivate team members to achieve common goals.
Customer focus: The ability to understand customer needs and preferences and develop crop portfolios that meet those needs.
