Lawyer – Regulatory The Lawyer – Regulatory will support Senior Regulatory Lawyers in providing expert advice on regulatory matters including alcohol, gambling and AML/CTF.
This role will focus on resolving customer disputes, mitigating legal and regulatory risks, and advising on the development and marketing of regulated products.
By collaborating with cross-functional teams, the position will help ensure compliance, protect the organisation’s legal interests, and promote responsible service practices.
Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:
- Conduct legal research and analysis and provide practical and clear legal advice on liquor, gaming, tobacco, and AML/CTF regulatory matters, including the application of relevant laws and regulations in retail, hospitality and gaming environments.
- Handle any compliance enforcement matters, including providing legal guidance on investigations and resolution strategies, and represent the organisation in those actions where necessary.
- Offer legal guidance on the development, marketing, and control of regulated products, with a focus on ensuring responsible service and compliance. Work closely with relevant teams to address regulatory concerns and manage the risks associated with these offerings.
- Partner with the financial crime, gaming compliance, responsible service of gambling, operations and other legal teams to ensure cohesive legal and compliance strategies, particularly where the service of regulated products is involved. Deliver effective service alongside these teams to Endeavour businesses and brands.
- Manage legal cases related to customer disputes or high-risk issues, ensuring timely and efficient resolution, with particular attention to issues arising from regulated services or products.
Now let’s talk about you:
- Law degree and admission to practice as a solicitor.
- 2-4 years post admission experience, with some exposure in regulatory law, compliance, gaming, or anti-money laundering (AML) AML/CTF.
- Ability to provide clear, practical, and risk-based legal advice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple cases or projects simultaneously.
- Experience in the hospitality or gambling sectors. (Desirable)
- Experience in customer-facing issues, particularly in handling complaints, disputes, or high-risk customer interactions. (Desirable)
- Previous experience in case management and resolving complex regulatory or legal matters. (Desirable)
