Full-Time Legal Counsel

Utilising a solid understanding of procurement practices, export/import controls and new market expansion, the Legal Counsel will contribute to Montu’s continued growth and success with a focus on commercial contracting, and advertising in support of wholesale, procurement, and partnerships across Australia and international markets.

In conjunction with the legal team, the role will work on a variety of innovative legal issues across the company leveraging expertise, good judgment, and strong business sense to assess and mitigate legal risk while finalising contracts at a fast pace.

1. Key Responsibilities
2. Review, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements with vendors, customers, and partners for the purchase and distribution of regulated therapeutic goods, including intercompany transactions.
3. Respond promptly to legal questions and requests from various stakeholders in the business.
4. Keep current on relevant industry standards, laws, and regulations, including import/export regulations for therapeutic goods and healthcare services regulatory requirements.
5. Assist with corporate regulatory requirements including company secretary work.
6. Establish templates and training modules to support the business to continue to grow at pace.
7. Suggest and assist in implementing improvements to existing processes and enablement resources.

Qualifications

• Qualified to practise in Australia with a minimum of 4-6+ years PQE.
• Hands-on experience reviewing and negotiating a variety of contracts within a fast-paced company.
• Strong contract drafting skills.
• Propensity to roll up your sleeves, learn the business and proactively identify and analyse opportunities and risks as well as pragmatic mitigations to address them.
• Comfortable participating in cross-functional and internationally distributed teams.
• Must have a high degree of capability in Legal advisory, Risk management, Commercial negotiations, Stakeholder collaboration
