Full-Time Open Pit Purchasing & Logistics Supervisor

This role identifies, forecasts, and ensures timely supply deliveries to internal customers. It uses planning, control, and communication processes to maximize supply efficiency across Macraes Open Pit stores.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Develops and implements systems and procedures for continual liaison with the supply chain (internal and external) to meet agreed quality, time, and cost requirements.
• Maintains accurate inventory control systems, including minimum/maximum stock levels, rolling and annual stock takes, and provides reports on stock levels and variances.
• Investigates supply and delivery options for optimum quality and price.
• Contributes to tendering of supply contracts, monitors performance, and records and reports transactions.
• Plans and schedules major consumables, allowing for contingencies, to meet operational and budget requirements.
• Provides leadership and coaching to foster a continuous improvement culture.
• Assigns tasks, gives clear instructions, actively listens, provides feedback, and holds regular meetings.
• Contributes to continuous safety improvement in the Purchasing & Logistics and Open Pit Maintenance departments.

Qualifications & Experience

• Full Manual Drivers Licence
• Tertiary qualification in Logistics/Distribution/Supply Chain Management or similar
• Current NZ forklift licence
• First Aid Certificate (or ability to obtain one)
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a Purchasing and Logistics environment.
• Exposure to a mining, manufacturing, or production environment is desirable.
• Management experience is an advantage.
• High computer literacy and strong MS product skills
