Our Macraes Open Pit team seeks a Purchasing and Logistics Supervisor. If you have management experience in Purchasing and Logistics, desire to lead a team, and want to join New Zealand's largest gold mine, apply now!
This role identifies, forecasts, and ensures timely supply delivery to internal customers using planning, control, and communication processes to maximize supply efficiency in the Macraes Open Pit stores.
- Develops and implements systems and procedures for continuous liaison with the internal and external supply chain to meet or exceed quality, time, and cost requirements.
- Maintains effective and accurate inventory control systems (minimum/maximum stock levels, rolling/annual stock takes), providing meaningful stock level and variance reports.
- Continuously investigates supply and delivery options for optimum quality and price.
- Contributes to supply contract tendering, monitors performance, and records/reports transactions.
- Plans and schedules major consumables, considering contingencies, to meet or exceed operational and budget requirements.
- Provides leadership and coaching for a strong culture of continuous improvement. Assigns tasks based on individual abilities, giving clear instructions, actively listening, providing feedback, and holding regular meetings.
- Contributes to continuous safety improvement in Purchasing & Logistics and Open Pit Maintenance departments.
Requirements:
- Full Manual Drivers License
- Tertiary qualification in Logistics/Distribution/Supply Chain Management (or similar)
- Current NZ forklift license
- First Aid Certificate (or ability to obtain one)
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Purchasing and Logistics
- Experience in mining, manufacturing, or production (desirable)
- Previous management exposure (advantage)
- High computer literacy, proficient in MS Office products
