Full-Time Paralegal

COMPANY OVERVIEW:
Founded in 1989, United Automobile Insurance Company is looking for a Paralegal to join our team. UAIC is one of the largest privately held property and casualty insurance companies in the United States.

SCOPE:
The Paralegal will play a critical role in supporting legal and claims professionals in managing insurance-related legal matters. This position involves preparing legal documents, conducting research, and assisting in the handling of claims. This role requires organizational skills, legal knowledge, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This position offers a remote work arrangement, allowing the ideal candidate to work from the Texas area.

DUTIES:

• Assist the claims team by gathering and reviewing claims-related documents.
• Conduct legal research on relevant laws and regulations related to property and casualty insurance claims.
• Draft and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
• Organize and maintain case files, claim files, and other legal documents.
• Act as a point of contact between the claims department, external attorneys, clients, and internal stakeholders.
• Assist in managing litigation cases, including preparing discovery responses and compiling evidence.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Assist in the negotiation and finalization of settlements.

EDUCATION:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or related field. Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program is required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency is a plus.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Paralegal, preferably in property and casualty insurance, insurance defense, or related areas of law.
• Strong knowledge of insurance regulations, property and casualty insurance policies, and Florida legal procedures.
• Familiarity with Miami and Florida state court systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in legal research and document management software.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple cases and tasks simultaneously.
