Summary:
The Payroll Team Lead is responsible for overseeing Payroll Administration Services to ensure they are delivered efficiently and in compliance with both legislative requirements and internal policies. The role focuses on supporting employee lifecycle transactions with a strong emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
To excel in this role, the candidate will need to ensure the following:
* Compliance with all relevant safety and performance standards, as well as applicable laws and regulations
* Payroll processing and reporting are completed accurately, on time, and in line with audit standards
* Accurate and responsive communication with employees and managers
* Strict adherence to internal policies and external regulations
* Timely and accurate execution of third-party payments, authorizations, and reconciliations
* Fulfillment of internal and external payroll reporting obligations
* Leadership and mentoring of team members
* Collaboration with Finance, Tax, and IT to design efficient payroll processes and configurations
* Secure handling and filing of all payroll-related documentation
* Assistance with year-end processes, including reconciliations and the generation of payment summaries
* Processing of payroll for expatriates and inpatriates, including year-end requirements
* Identification, testing, and implementation of payroll system and process improvements
* Support for the Human Resources Shared Services (HRSC) team as needed
* Maintenance of comprehensive knowledge of employee conditions, awards, and legislation to ensure compliance
* Consistent application of payroll-related policies and procedures across the organization
* Timely and accurate reporting to support strategic and operational decision-making
* Compliance with government and regulatory reporting requirements
* Completion of payroll audits, both internal and external, as they arise
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
* 5 years of experience with SAP payroll processing is essential
* At least 4 years of experience in US payroll processing; Experience in Canadian payroll processing is a plus
* Proven expertise in end-to-end payroll processing and compliance
* Ability to work in an environment that promotes quality human resource management practices
* Self-motivated, able to work independently within defined timelines
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
