Informa seeks a strategic, driven professional to manage HDI and ICMI's events, certification, and training businesses, and content.
As the Portfolio Director, you'll manage the strategy and daily operations of HDI and ICMI's professional development services (certification, training), events, and content strategy. This includes ensuring strong community engagement and thought leadership, and consistent content utilization across the business to grow products and empower marketing efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Strategy & Management (40%):
- Drive the events, certification, and training product strategy (annual goals, tracking, operationalization, communication)
- Drive group content strategy, focusing on best practices and performance improvement for target professional communities (thinkhdi.com, icmi.com).
- Financial Management (20%):
- Budget, forecast, and track 9 P&Ls (6 training, 3 events) in collaboration with the Senior Director and Finance team, adhering to Informa's guidelines (monthly/annual forecasting)
- Team Management (15%):
- Manage a cross-functional team (event, instructional design, operations, content/community)
- Track performance, mentor and motivate team members.
- Guide priorities aligned with commercial targets.
- Market Alignment & Quality Assurance (10%):
- Ensure strategic direction meets the educational and professional needs of the target markets (IT service/support, contact center), complementing market trends.
- Events: Ensure conference agendas reflect industry trends, feature senior practitioners, and provide a fresh customer experience.
- Training: Update and develop content, aligning with brand priorities and quality standards. Monitor course and trainer performance, adjusting approaches based on data analysis.
- Content Strategy Consultation (10%):
- Collaborate with teams across the business to inform content best practices and strategy, integrating content into products and marketing.
- Develop content for industry events, content marketing programs, training curriculum, and audience growth.
- Influencer Networks (5%):
- Establish stronger relationships with industry experts and influencers to grow the business.
- Collaborate on stakeholder management (Business Associates, Conference Advisory Boards, Contributing Writers, Top 25 Influencers, Awards Programs).
Experience/Skills Required:
- Proven management experience or higher.
- Proven experience managing events, training, certification or related professional services.
- Experience in IT service/support and/or contact center preferred, but not required.
- Proven experience managing P&Ls, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strong leadership and people management skills (performance management).
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Instructional design appreciation.
- Technology savvy, adaptable.
- Ability to navigate complex environments and diplomatically push initiatives forward.
- Travel requirement: 15%
Salary: $100,000 - $135,000 (depending on experience)
