Full-Time Practice Lead, Data Science - Supply Chain

We also help our clients at the cutting edge of the application of ML, AI, and Generative AI to solve for their supply chain optimization challenges.

We are seeking a VP of Data Science, who can drive our supply chain analytics offerings and deliver meaningful solutions that address our clients biggest challenges.

Accountabilities:

As the Supply Chain Practice Leader for our Data Science team, you will be responsible for the strategy, offerings, and growth of the client base. Your role will be pivotal in driving upfront awareness of the value Data Science offers our clients, helping them shape and formulate solutions, and building the team's delivery capabilities in areas like demand forecasting, predictive maintenance, inventory optimization, and delivery routing.

Client-Facing Business Generation: Your supply chain expertise and experience will advise our supply chain clients on how to improve the efficiency, reliability, and speed of their operations. You'll collaborate with our clients to develop solution approaches, define the scope of work and resources needed, and drive the ROI and outcomes the project is designed to achieve.

Offering & Accelerator Development: You'll define the service offerings and standard project methodologies for delivering our supply chain engagements. Additionally, you'll work with our technical teams to create project accelerators that can be leveraged at the outset of projects to accelerate our progress. Partnering with the client management and marketing teams, you'll create the marketing assets, client pitches, and thought leadership that differentiate Blend's approach and drive interest in our Supply Chain offerings in the market.

Technical Solutioning and Oversight: Our Data Scientists possess deep expertise across a range of data-driven and mathematical solutions. Our work spans statistical analysis, predictive modeling, machine learning, optimization, and generative AI-driven approaches. The right candidate will be able to apply their Supply Chain expertise in a Data Science context, effectively translating these concepts into technical solution approaches.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead and drive the development of the Supply Chain practice for Data Science
2. Proactively drive client interest with the client partner team, delivering presentations to client prospects, crafting solution proposals, and driving throught leadership
3. Act as an internal domain expert regarding supply chain optimization challenges, solutions and technologies
4. Evangelize and champion Supply Chain within the organization to drive greater exposure and awareness with clients
5. Problem-solve with practice leaders to translate the business problem into a workable Data Science solution: propose different approaches and their pros and cons
6. Ability to provide ethical and positive leadership that motivates direct reports and develops their talent and skillset while achieving results
7. Directly manage project work and overall performance, including effective career planning; have difficult conversations and deliver constructive feedback with support from senior management.
8. Interview, hire and train new employees to grow the practice and talent
9. Work with practice leaders to get stakeholder feedback, get alignment on approaches, deliverables, and roadmaps
10. Develop a practice growth plan including milestones, dates, owners, and risks and contingency plans
11. Oversee the development of analytics tools and accelerators to drive high quality delivery of supply chain engagements

Qualifications

• MS degree in Statistics, Math, Data Analytics, or a related quantitative field
• At least 10+ years Professional experience in Supply Chain Optimization with a focus in leveraging Data Science, advanced analytics, and AI
• Strong problem-solving skills; ability to pivot complex data to answer business questions
• Proven ability to visualize data for influencing
• Comfortable with cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, Google)
