Job Position: PRODUCTION ENGINEER - ETO
Job Overview The qualified person will work in the Engineered-To-Order Crane division in Houston (ETO) as part of Engineered Solutions. This individual should be detail-oriented and creative professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This person communicates on a regular basis with project engineers, project managers, manufacturing and purchasing to ensure the project continues to move per schedule. This individual is responsible for driving the release of Bills-of-Materials on schedule, to ensure materials are available when the crane is scheduled for manufacturing.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Work in Teamcenter (ERP System) and SAP environment.
- Take the Engineering Bill of Material (EBOM) from Engineering/Teamcenter and output the Manufacturing Bill of Material (MBOM) for SAP so it can be used by Purchasing & Manufacturing Planning.
- Configure the MBOM and determine Make/Buy assignments.
- Maintain SAP material extensions and routings.
- Take engineering changes from EBOM that occur during the lifecycle of a project and create updated MBOM for inputting into SAP ensuring parts are not duplicated or missed.
- Provide other support and expertise as directed by their supervisor.
- Active communication between engineering, production and purchasing.
Qualifications
- Experience with the workings and flow of a weld shop and assembly manufacturing environment is required.
- Excellent SAP skills and knowledge are required. Teamcenter knowledge is preferred.
- Knowledge of cranes and other material handling equipment is required.
- Knowledge of engineering documentation and drawings; able to read an engineering drawing and EBOM
- Great interpersonal skills and ability to work with Project Managers, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Engineering.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Basic understanding of electrical components and electrical schematic diagrams.
