Role: As the Manager of Sales Development, you will lead the growth engine of our sales team, coaching and developing a team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs). Reporting to the Sr. Director, you will design and implement lead generation strategies to drive success in strategic conversations with District and School Administrators. Your ability to improve team performance and exceed territory goals is key to Newsela's mission.
Responsibilities:
- Coach, train, and manage a team of SDRs to achieve quarterly and annual metrics.
- Partner with sales leaders to align on strategies and goals.
- Develop and implement lead generation strategies for District and School Administrators.
- Monitor and improve territory performance, identifying growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to enhance inter-departmental processes and execute company-wide goals.
- Leverage sales tools (Salesforce, Salesloft) to manage team performance and workflows.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of sales experience, or 2+ years of sales management.
- Proven track record of coaching others and hitting goals.
- Strong ability to develop and execute lead generation strategies.
- Strong ability to identify and develop talent.
- Proficiency in Salesforce and other sales tools.
- Experience coaching using platforms like Gong or Salesloft.
- Excellent inter-departmental collaboration skills.
- Passion for education and Newsela's mission.
Compensation:
- Base salary: $80,000
- On-target commission (OTC): $40,000
- On-target earnings (OTE): $120,000
