Sales Manager Responsibilities:
- Achieve sales targets for NEC Digital Studio.
- Deliver order intake with forecast predictability and revenue recognition.
- Represent NEC at C-Suite and senior stakeholder meetings.
- Develop target accounts and build relationships.
- Identify and shape opportunities to increase win probability.
- Lead, coach, and mentor a multi-disciplinary team.
- Review and qualify new business opportunities, assign to sales leads, manage bids.
- Work with Executive Directors for approvals.
- Enhance Go-to-Market offerings with product/strategy.
- Enhance marketing and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Support successful project delivery.
Sales Targets: Achieve TCV & GM targets, individual contribution, team target, and in-year revenue forecast, aligned with the Mid-Term Plan.
Pipeline Development: Develop pipeline, risk profiles, territory plans, campaign plans (e.g., DcfH2), account plans for major accounts, new name opportunities, and engagements to shape tenders.
Bid Qualifications/Management: Attend sign-on boards, provide timely briefings to CCO on bid progress/deal status, ensure sufficient bid planning time, agree win price with CCO, coordinate with bid team for document preparation, and conduct red team reviews.
Functional Escalation & Team Management: Adhere to NEC processes, ensure CRM accuracy, achieve revenue predictability, manage customer-facing time (minimum 30% customer contact time), complete re-signs, track progress towards closure, provide daily updates, weekly deal sheets, monthly reports, and address risks and operations issues.
Forecast Management: Ensure correct forecast to the business, accuracy of revenue recognition, allocate management judgments to deals/individuals, forecast deals needing signing, update the Tracker sheet.
Team Development: Provide coaching and mentoring, ensure completion of mandatory compliance modules.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience owning sales targets and managing a team with a sales target.
- Credibility in delivering transformation of central government digital services.
- Understanding of user-centered design, service design, and GDS.
- Ability to set work programs, meet tight timescales, and multitask.
- Understanding of Public Services procurement in the UK.
Technical Skills: Microsoft Office Suite, ITIL, CRM system experience.
Additional Information:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in managing multi-million-pound bids and shaping bids.
- Understanding of sales methodologies (e.g., Plan to Win, Blue Sheet, TAS).
- Proven ability to identify win themes and perform SWOT analysis on bids.
- Strong understanding of the digital/UCD market.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Possession of a valid UK driving license.
- Good commercial and contractual experience (desirable)
- Understanding of UK Government Framework Agreements (desirable)
- Experience in a similar role (desirable)
- Line management experience (desirable)
