We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT Salesperson to join our team, specializing in selling IT solutions to educational institutions. This role requires a strong understanding of the E-Rate program, including its application process, funding, and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will be a results-driven professional who can build relationships, identify client needs, and deliver tailored technology solutions to schools and districts. This is a remote position, preferably based in the US Southeast. The role will require occasional travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the K-12 and higher education markets.
- Work closely with the sales team to uncover and support E-Rate opportunities in their respective regions.
- Act as a trusted advisor to partners and end customers by understanding their technology needs and recommending appropriate solutions.
- Guide clients through the E-Rate program, including funding applications, eligible services, and compliance requirements.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure solutions meet E-Rate guidelines.
- Stay updated on E-Rate program changes and communicate updates to clients and colleagues.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the company’s IT products and services, including networking, cloud solutions, hardware, software, and managed services.
- Customize sales presentations and proposals to address the unique needs of educational institutions.
- Analyze market trends and identify opportunities to expand the company’s presence in the education sector.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network and promote the company’s offerings.
- Provide feedback to product development and marketing teams on customer needs and emerging trends.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, information technology, or related field.
- Proven track record in IT sales, preferably within the education sector.
- Strong understanding of the E-Rate program, including eligible services and funding processes.
- Knowledge of IT solutions such as networking, cloud computing, hardware, and software.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong negotiation and closing abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A self-starting, ambitious personality that takes pride in the success of their business.
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce.
- Up to 30% travel.
