About the Role:
We are looking for a Sr. Accountant to be an integral part of our growing team. This role focuses on all aspects of the accounting workflow, including month-end close, audit support, and providing accurate analytics to Finance, Supply Chain, and Lab Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform month-end close accounting for inventory and cost of goods sold, including journal entries, reconciliations, and cost variance reports.
- Analyze and report on inventory levels, gross margins, manufacturing spend, standard costing variances, reserves, and other related concepts.
- Manage inventory using standard costing and ensure US GAAP compliance.
- Identify and drive process improvement opportunities in the month-end close process.
- Prepare, consolidate, review, and present cost analyses and KPIs to leadership.
- Work with the Accounting Manager to improve processes and policies.
- Conduct physical inventory counts and monitor cycle count programs.
- Support quarterly and annual audits.
- Maintain internal financial controls for data integrity, accurate statements, and asset protection.
- Support ad-hoc process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- BS in Accounting or Finance; CPA/CMA a plus
- 4+ years of general accounting experience (cash, investments, fixed assets, accruals)
- Inventory management and reporting experience
- Understanding of Supply Chain and Cost Accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or lab setting
- Experience working with and analyzing large datasets and summarizing results for non-financial stakeholders
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience with process design, implementation, and monitoring
- Experience analyzing manufacturing variances and recommending corrective actions
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
- NetSuite, SmartView Planning, Tableau, and/or Google Suite experience preferred
- Laboratory experience a plus
Compensation:
Base salary: $68,000 - $109,250
Bonus: 10% of annual salary
Equity: Generous equity offered
