About the OpportunityMinderoo seeks a Global Advocacy Director to lead international advocacy strategy and amplify global influence. This high-impact role shapes and advances Minderoo's international presence through strategic engagement, high-level partnerships, and targeted influence.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Advocacy & Engagement, and working closely with Founders and the Board, the Director drives advocacy initiatives, ensuring Minderoo's priorities are championed among key global decision-makers.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and lead strategic global and regional advocacy strategies.
- Build and manage high-level relationships with governments, multilateral institutions, global philanthropies, civil society organizations, and NGOs.
- Coordinate compelling international engagements for Founders and Executive Leadership, elevating Minderoo's goals.
- Represent Minderoo at influential international forums and high-level events.
- Support advocacy campaigns connecting Minderoo's priorities to global topics and movements.
- Proactively identify and act on emerging global opportunities.
- Prepare strategic briefs and provide expert insights to senior stakeholders.
- Leverage international platforms to amplify advocacy impact and visibility.
- Mentor and support internal teams to develop advocacy capacity.
- Drive bilateral engagement strategies to build influence and deepen partnerships.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on global engagement efforts.
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams.
About YouYou are a globally-minded strategist with deep understanding of international systems and policy, ideally in environmental law, global development, or international relations. You navigate complex multilateral and bilateral landscapes, excel at building meaningful relationships at the highest levels, and have:
- A Degree in International Relations, Law, Public Policy, or related discipline.
- At least 10 years' experience in international advocacy, external affairs, government, or global policy.
- Strong knowledge of international governance structures, especially the UN and other multilateral bodies.
- Proven experience managing senior-level relationships.
- Deep insight into the global political landscape and emerging policy trends.
- An established international network.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills, experience briefing senior executives and political leaders.
- A calm, focused approach to managing multiple priorities under pressure.
- Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally, and work across global time zones.
