Full-Time Senior Director Distribution Ops

Senior Director, Distribution Operations is a pivotal leadership role in the Market Access department responsible for overseeing the day-to-day distribution of rare disease specialty therapies across the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada.

Key responsibilities:

1. National and International Logistics:
   • Lead commercial distribution operations for the US and Puerto Rico, supporting the Canadian market as needed.
   • Oversee 3PL vendor performance, ensuring optimal service levels, effective processes, KPI attainment, and alignment with distribution goals.
   • Manage international distribution issues (import/export, common carrier requirements, licensing/registration).
   • Make process improvements in a matrixed environment.
2. Strategic Foresight & Risk Management:
   • Lead planning and execution for seamless product distribution, communicating closely with internal and external partners to navigate obstacles.
   • Proactively identify and address disruptions to product availability (packaging, artwork, expiry, manufacturing, shipping, import/export regulations).
   • Anticipate and manage risks related to operations (weather delays, temperature excursions, shipping concerns).
   • Report proactively to executive management as necessary.
3. Compliance & Regulatory Management:
   • Manage compliance with GXP, DSCSA, state licensing, price transparency reporting, drug takeback programs.
   • Ensure vendor compliance with contractual requirements.
   • Collaborate with Quality Assurance.
4. Collaboration & Cross-functional Leadership:
   • Collaborate with Quality, Technical Operations, Finance, Legal, and Regulatory teams to drive distribution performance.
   • Collaborate with Technical Operations to synchronize supply chain operations.
   • Play a role in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings, briefing the executive team on product launches.
   • Partner with Trade Relations to address issues impacting partners.
   • Collaborate with other Market Access colleagues (Payer Accounts, GPO, Patient Services, Field Reimbursement).
   • Support franchise organizations and provide distribution insight.
5. Data Management and Oversight:
   • Lead data reporting, analysis, and insights on sales, inventory, and patient journey.
   • Manage data using 3PL portals, EDI data sets, and data aggregators.
   • Build relationships with vendors and external partners.
6. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Communication:
   • Provide leadership to a small, high-performing operations team.
   • Recruit, retain, and develop high-qualified talent.
   • Lead presentations to executive management and collaborate across diverse groups.
   • Design impactful data visualizations and reports.
