Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of Sales, responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Consistently offer professional, engaging and proactive guest service while supporting fellow Colleagues
- Exceed personal sales room revenue booking goals: monthly, quarterly and yearly in each of the following categories: Group room, group rental revenue, group catering, prospecting, site inspections, personal sales calls, entertainment
- Actively identify, qualify and solicit new business within the territory assigned
- Respond to and manage complex incoming opportunities in a timely manner
- Develop monthly sales strategy and action plans
- Perform weekly sales calls and client entertainment
- Organize and host a Familiarization trip
- Utilize Opera sales system in compliance with Accor brand standards. Develop and compile a contract
- Develop key and developmental accounts for hotels that will generate long-term business partnerships. Strengthen relationships with existing customers
- Keep accurate records of potential customers & follow through on all potential business
- Quote and negotiate prices within established parameters
- Develop rapport with relevant Fairmont Global Sales Office(s), Bermuda tourism office and key partners in travel
- Participate in Accor territory sales events and trade shows, involve preparation of events, invitation of clients and facilitation of event
- Stay familiar with industry trends, economic trends, supply and demand in the market. Learn competitor strengths and weaknesses
- Think strategically and maximize group potential. Utilize meeting space for meetings and events
- Attend all required internal and brand meetings. Participate in on-going brainstorming sessions
- Develop and maintain close and effective working relationships with all supporting departments
- Coordinate with conventions services on groups involving rooms and banquet revenue
- Adhere to all Accor sales standards
- Maintain positive relations with all Guests, Vendors, Colleagues
- Overnight travel may include weekends to conduct ongoing sales calls to clients
- Manage and share one coordinator with other Sales Managers
- Participate in hotel committees
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experience in the NYC market strongly preferred
- At least five years hotel group sales management experience in a luxury Hotel environment
- Results-oriented, highly motivated individual with a positive attitude
- Degree in Business Management, Sales or equivalent experience preferred
- Proven ability to work effectively in a demanding and fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to work cohesively as part of a team
- Proven ability to focus on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous
- Ability to act independently and work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work as a team while negotiating and communicating effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literacy (Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Property Manager experience preferred
- Ability to travel and work non-traditional hours
- Maintain a suitable home office environment
