This role partners with Visa stakeholders to develop and manage complex commercial agreements and contracts.
Requires knowledge of industry best practices, deep collaboration with Legal, Finance, Product, and Sales.
Advocates for the Sales organization (co-branding, financial institutions, etc.) and works closely with Finance, Legal, and Audit.
The ideal candidate is self-directed, analytical, strategic, and experienced in the payments industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and finalize complex commercial agreements achieving business objectives.
- Maintain business relationships after contract execution.
- Liaise with Sales, Finance, Legal, and Audit for consistent and timely contract approvals.
- Identify process improvements and add value to stakeholders.
- Manage contract development, approval, filing, database, reporting.
- Participate in special assignments.
- Provide training on contract processes.
- Implement process improvements for multiple contract types.
- Collaborate with leadership across various functions.

Qualifications:
- Required: 8+ years relevant experience (Bachelor's) or 5+ years (Advanced Degree) or 2+ years (PhD).
- Preferred: 9+ years (Bachelor's) or 7+ years (Advanced Degree) or 3+ years (PhD).
- Required Education: Bachelor's degree, JD (preferred).
- 6+ years: Extensive contract drafting experience.
- Relevant experience at Fortune 500 or large corporations/law firms.
- Strong understanding of payments industry and Visa products.
- Experience with financial institutions laws, antitrust, competition law, technology and digital payments, fintech.
- Prior experience managing staff in a dynamic environment.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with senior leaders.
- Excellent written/verbal communication, interpersonal & negotiation skills.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task.
- Superior analytical, pragmatic problem-solving & writing skills.
- Experience in initiating/driving strategic efficiency process improvements.
- Proficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Experience with contract management software (Salesforce, Apttus)
- Experience with e-signature tools (DocuSign).
