Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Sr. Director of Consumer Sales – Americas to lead and grow our retail sales organization across the region. This senior leader will be responsible for shaping strategy, managing key retail partnerships, and driving revenue growth through both national and regional retail channels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail sales leadership, deep understanding of the Americas market, and a proven ability to lead high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy & Leadership: Develop and execute the overall retail sales strategy for Americas in alignment with company goals. Lead annual sales planning, forecasting, and budgeting for the retail channel. Identify growth opportunities across key accounts and new retail segments.
- Team Management: Build, coach, and lead a team of regional and national account managers, directors, and support staff. Foster a high-performance, accountability-driven culture. Set and monitor performance KPIs and provide mentorship to team members.
- Retail Account Management: Cultivate and manage senior-level relationships with key retail partners (e.g., Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Amazon Retail, etc.). Lead strategic negotiations, JBP (Joint Business Planning), and category management initiatives. Ensure excellence in retail execution, pricing integrity, and promotional effectiveness.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Marketing, Trade Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain to align sales efforts and optimize the go-to-market approach. Partner with product and insights teams to inform product development and shopper trends.
- Market & Competitive Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and shifts in consumer behavior. Translate insights into actionable recommendations to maintain competitive advantage.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
- 12+ years of experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing retail sales.
- Proven success in managing large retail accounts and achieving sales targets.
- Deep understanding of the North American and Latin American consumer landscape (e.g., big box, specialty, e-commerce).
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience with sales forecasting tools and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in [industry: consumer goods, electronics, apparel, etc.].
- Background working with omni-channel retail strategies.
- Familiarity with DTC and e-retail dynamics.
