Guardant Health is seeking an Associate Director, Healthcare Compliance to join our Commercial Legal & Compliance team to support our new Screening Division.
This position has dual responsibilities: serving as legal counsel overseeing contract matters and as a compliance advisor.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel and strategic advice on compliance issues.
- Develop awareness of risks associated with marketing and sale of cancer diagnostic products.
- Provide guidance to business partners through all stages of the product life cycle.
- Draft, implement, and maintain relevant policies and training plans.
- Maintain knowledge of existing and emerging trends and laws regarding healthcare compliance.
- Advice on legal issues throughout the medical device lifecycle.
- Review promotional and educational materials.
- Perform routine teaching audits.
- Assist with internal investigations.
- Manage corrective actions and remediation plans.
- Assist with special projects.
Requirements:
- J.D. with 5+ years of experience in a legal department of a healthcare organization or law firm.
- Experience in a healthcare organization providing legal advice on contractual arrangements.
- Knowledge of federal and state laws (False Claims Act, Stark Law, EKRA, Anti-Kickback Statute).
- Solid understanding of industry best practices for ethics and compliance risk.
- Proven track record in deploying risk mitigation strategies.
Preferred:
- Certification in Healthcare Fraud & Abuse Law Compliance.
- Knowledge of clinical laboratory, diagnostic, and medical device industries.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid requirements, medical necessity, and coding rules.
- Knowledge of privacy laws (GDPR, HIPAA, APPI).
